Environmental Management Support, Inc. (EMS) has been awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) within the Department of Interior (DOI). Under this BPA, EMS will manage the scientific peer review of selected research projects.
BSEE and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) conduct and support research that promotes the safety of offshore workers, enhances emergency preparedness, protects offshore environmental resources, and reduces potential impacts on our Nation’s energy infrastructure and economic prosperity. Such research supports regulatory changes and ensures that suitable technology is applied on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf. Through peer review of its research products, BSEE ensures that its research is salient, credible, objective, and accepted by experts in relevant scientific fields and by stakeholders.
The contract has an estimated value of $10 million over five years if all options are exercised.
This new contract builds upon EMS's demonstrated ability and record of past performance providing peer review support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for over 20 years. EMS has a clear understanding of the government's peer review processes, and will apply our experience to manage the scientific peer reviews of research projects for BSEE.
