EMS Announces Succession Plan Appointing Pete Riddle as President

February 17, 2021

The Board of Directors of Environmental Management Support, Inc. (EMS) announced today the appointment of Peter Riddle as incoming President, succeeding Thomas A. Heim on April 1, 2021. In keeping with sound business management and corporate governance, EMS has conducted a systematic, two-year executive succession process in anticipation of the planned retirement of President Heim. EMS will continue implementing its leadership transition plan, with Riddle assuming additional responsibilities in close collaboration with Mr. Heim. Mr. Heim will remain with the company until the end of the year to ensure a smooth and seamless transition of responsibilities.

Mr. Heim has served as EMS's President since 2014 and has been with EMS since 1989. He has successfully led the company since the retirement of EMS's founder, N. Jay Bassin. "I am deeply appreciative for the opportunity to both work closely with our clients over the past 32 years and lead EMS for the past 7 years. I am confident that Pete's appointment will provide long-term stability to both EMS clients and staff," Mr. Heim said.

Mr. Riddle has been with EMS for 23 years and has been managing EMS's support for the Contaminated Site Clean-Up Information (CLU-IN) website since 1998. He currently manages EMS's largest contract, which provides support to EPA's Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation.

"I am completely committed to the long-term success of EMS, and am eager to embrace both the opportunities and challenges as President. EMS thrives as a team of dedicated professionals that is highly effective for our size, and I will continue to lead EMS with that core principle," Riddle said.
